Sonu Sood Critiques iPhone Mania, Advocates for Social Change

Mumbai, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : In Mumbai, a familiar scene unfolded on Friday as eager customers flocked to Apple stores to purchase the new iPhone 18 Pro series. The event attracted significant attention, prompting actor Sonu Sood to share his thoughts on the phenomenon.

Sood took to social media to express his views on the trend of spending extravagantly on expensive phones. He suggested that instead of showcasing false prestige through costly devices, individuals should channel their hard-earned money and energy towards societal welfare.

Posting a photo of the bustling crowd outside an Apple store, Sood emphasized the importance of prioritizing social improvement over materialism. He wrote, “A new phone, new EMI, the same old bills! Perhaps it’s time to stand in line not just for an upgrade, but to bring about positive changes in society. The real upgrade is building a better community.”

The iPhone 18 Pro series officially went on sale at 8 AM on Friday across India. Long queues formed outside Apple stores in major cities like Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, and Bengaluru as customers eagerly awaited their chance to buy the latest model.

The base model of the iPhone 18 starts at ₹164,900, and the excitement surrounding its release was palpable, with many opting for online pre-booking in advance.

Notably, actor Vicky Kaushal was also spotted at the official Apple store in the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai, unboxing his new iPhone 18 Pro Max as the sales kicked off in the country. Kaushal tested the phone’s features and posed for selfies with eager paparazzi.
