Seoul, 21 September (Kiran News). Samsung is set to begin mass production of its Exynos 2600 chipset this month, according to industry reports. The processor will be the company’s first built on its 2nm GAA (Gate-All-Around) process node and is expected to debut in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Daishin Securities said.

Samsung recently used the Exynos 2500 in its Galaxy Z Flip7 to reduce costs in its mobile division while supporting growth in its semiconductor arm, System LSI. With the Exynos 2600, the company is aiming for the same success on a larger scale with the Galaxy S26 line.

Earlier this year, the head of Samsung LSI confirmed that the company was “carefully preparing” the new chipset and anticipated “good results.” The 2600 will feature a new Heat Pass Block element to improve thermal management.

Benchmark leaks show the Exynos 2600 delivering promising results, with the Xclipse 960 GPU reportedly capable of outperforming Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 graphics unit.

The impact of the Exynos 2600 extends beyond Samsung’s smartphones. If successful, it could attract external foundry clients, especially as TSMC increases pricing. Industry sources suggest potential orders from Nintendo, Tesla, and Valens. Notably, Tesla and Samsung earlier signed a $16.5 billion deal for next-generation AI chips.

Meanwhile, Daishin Securities forecasts that Samsung’s Device Solutions division—which includes LSI, foundry, and memory chip businesses—will post an operating profit of KRW 5 trillion ($3.6 billion) in Q3. Memory chips remain the biggest driver, with an estimated KRW 6.3 trillion profit, while the foundry unit is projected to report a KRW 1.3 trillion loss, an improvement from Q2’s figures.
