London, July 11: Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared an emotional message for tennis superstar Roger Federer following their meeting at Wimbledon. On the social media platform ‘X’, Sachin highlighted the special bond of friendship they share, stating that some relationships never end.
Sachin wrote, “Some rallies never end. Our friendship is one of them. Roger, I always enjoy spending time with you. Until we meet again.”
Sachin’s visit to Wimbledon was memorable. He was among the special guests in the prestigious Royal Box during the men’s singles semifinal match held on Friday. There, he enjoyed the match alongside several prominent athletes and sports personalities.
Also present in the Royal Box was India’s ODI captain Shubman Gill, who experienced Wimbledon from this exclusive vantage point for the first time. Amidst his England tour, he took the opportunity to be part of this historic tournament. Football star and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, along with Leeds United chairman Parag Marathe, were also in attendance.
During Sachin’s meeting, his conversation with former West Indies captain Brian Lara reminded cricket fans of their competitive past. Both players were fierce rivals on the field, but after retiring from cricket, they have played together in numerous exhibition and charity matches, maintaining their friendship to this day.
In match highlights, Germany’s Alexander Zverev delivered an impressive performance, defeating Britain’s young player Arthur Fery in straight sets 7-6 (7-0), 6-2, 6-4 to reach his first Wimbledon final.
