Jammu, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated Vijayadashami at Jammu University on Friday, October 30, 2026. The event saw a significant turnout of volunteers and youth, emphasizing themes of nation-building, youth empowerment, discipline, and Indian culture.
Dr. Vikrant Sharma, the RSS’s regional joint leader, and retired Major General Sanjeev Dogra attended the celebration. Both leaders praised the event and urged the youth to actively contribute to the country’s development.
Dr. Sharma highlighted that the RSS organizes various festivals throughout the year, with Vijayadashami being a key part of this tradition. He stated that the primary aim of the celebration is to connect the nation’s youth to the process of nation-building. He emphasized that India, being a youth-centric nation, relies on its young citizens to shape the future. The more disciplined and thoughtful the youth are regarding national and societal issues, the better they can contribute to nation-building. He also stressed the importance of understanding and appreciating Indian culture and traditions, which he believes are crucial for effective participation in the country’s development.
In light of global unrest, Dr. Sharma noted the need to draw inspiration from India’s rich culture to further enhance the nation’s greatness. He expressed happiness over the large youth turnout, reinforcing his belief in a promising future under their leadership. Responding to allegations against the RSS from opposition parties, he dismissed them as part of a conspiracy, asserting that the organization has always played a leading role in nation-building. The RSS aims to establish India as a powerful and capable nation on the world stage.
Retired Major General Sanjeev Dogra also commended the youth’s participation and discipline. Having retired from the army two years ago, he expressed joy at being part of the event. Dogra was impressed by the dedication and spirit of the young attendees, urging more individuals to draw inspiration from such sentiments and actively engage in national development.
He noted that the event attracted numerous children and young people, asserting that such gatherings inspire the youth. He underscored the significance of their positive contributions, referring to them as the future of the country.
