RRB NTPC 12th Level Recruitment: Application Deadline Extended, Eligibility Rules Changed

The Railway Recruitment Board has extended the application deadline for NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Category) undergraduate level recruitment. The last date for applications, which was earlier November 27, has now been extended to December 6, 2025.

The deadline for fee payment for submitted applications has also been extended from November 29 to December 6. The form correction window with correction fee, which was earlier scheduled to open between November 30 and December 9, will now be available from December 7 to December 16.

Additionally, the Railway Recruitment Board has made changes to educational qualification rules. The cutoff date for obtaining educational qualifications and validity of all other certificates has been extended from November 27 to December 4, 2025. The age cutoff date remains unchanged at January 1, 2026.

Vacancy Details:

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk – 2,424 posts
Qualification: 12th pass with minimum 50% marks. For SC, ST and differently-abled candidates, only 12th pass is required, with no 50% marks requirement.

Accounts Clerk cum Typist – 394 posts
Qualification: 12th pass with minimum 50% marks plus computer typing skills – 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi. For SC, ST and differently-abled candidates, only 12th pass is required.

Junior Clerk cum Typist – 163 posts
Qualification: Same as Accounts Clerk cum Typist position.

Train Clerk – 77 posts
Qualification: 12th pass with minimum 50% marks. For SC, ST and differently-abled candidates, only 12th pass is required.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years. Age calculation will be done as on January 1, 2026. SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation and OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation in maximum age limit.

Selection Process: Two-stage CBT (CBT 1 and CBT 2) for all posts. These CBTs will be common for all positions. Each wrong answer will carry one-third negative marking.

For CBT 2, candidates will be shortlisted RRB-wise at 15 times the vacancy rate. After CBT 2, typing skill tests will be conducted for Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist positions.

CBT 1: 90 minutes, 100 questions – 40 General Awareness, 30 Mathematics, 30 General Intelligence and Reasoning.

CBT 2: 90 minutes, 120 questions – 50 General Awareness, 35 Mathematics, 35 General Intelligence and Reasoning.

Application Fee: Rs 500 (Rs 400 will be refunded to those appearing in CBT 1). For SC, ST, women, EBC, and differently-abled candidates: Rs 250 (full amount refunded after appearing in CBT 1).

Zone-wise vacancy distribution shows maximum openings in RRB Kolkata (499 posts) and RRB Mumbai (494 posts), followed by RRB Allahabad (303 posts) and RRB Secunderabad (272 posts).
