New Delhi, May 15: Former Indian all-rounder Robin Singh has decided to part ways with the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise. He had been associated with MI since 2010.
Robin announced his departure through a social media post on Friday, confirming that he is ending ties not only with the IPL team but also with the ILT20 franchise MI Emirates. Although Robin was not part of MI’s IPL support staff since 2022, his role with the foreign setup has also concluded this year.
On his social media account ‘X’, Robin wrote, “I want to announce that I have officially parted ways with Mumbai Indians. While I was not part of their IPL staff since 2022, I will also not be with the Emirates League team this year. I thank the entire MI family and fans for their support during my wonderful journey since 2010. Good luck to the franchise in the coming years.”
Robin has been with MI since 2010, playing a crucial role in the franchise’s five IPL titles and two CLT20 campaigns. In 2023, he served as the General Manager for MI Emirates during the inaugural season of ILT20. In 2024, he was appointed as the head coach of MI Emirates.
The former Indian player scored 2,336 runs at an average of 5.75 in 136 ODI matches and took 69 wickets at an average of 43.26. After retiring, Robin ventured into coaching, where he also found considerable success. He has been a key member of various T20 league setups worldwide. He was the coach of Deccan Chargers (now Sunrisers Hyderabad) in the first season of IPL, although the team finished at the bottom that year.
