Quetta, June 13: Amid escalating violence against civilians in Balochistan, prominent human rights organizations have accused Pakistani security forces of extrajudicially killing a citizen and forcibly disappearing two others.
According to the Baloch Youth Committee (BYC), the body of 28-year-old Saddam was discovered on Friday in the D-Baloch area of the Turbat region in Kech district. The circumstances surrounding his death have raised serious concerns among local residents and human rights observers.
The BYC stated that such incidents are plunging affected families and the entire community into deep sorrow, fear, and insecurity. They noted, “Saddam’s murder is yet another tragic link in the ongoing violence and human rights violations in Balochistan. Many families in the region are suffering the pain of losing their loved ones while being denied justice.”
The organization condemned this alleged extrajudicial killing, emphasizing that recurring incidents like this indicate that civilians remain constantly at risk, burdened by uncertainty and grief. The BYC has urged international human rights organizations, journalists, and global entities to take notice of the situation.
Meanwhile, the Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) has alleged that two students, 19-year-old Shakrullah and 20-year-old Zubair Baloch, were forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces on June 4 from the Dalbandin area of Balochistan.
According to the BVJ, both students’ families are still awaiting any official information regarding their status and whereabouts. The organization stated that forced disappearances are a serious violation of human rights and the rule of law.
Expressing solidarity with the affected families, the BVJ remarked, “The ongoing disappearance of citizens is exacerbating fear and insecurity in Balochistan. Every individual has the right to freedom, legal process, and protection from arbitrary detention. The voices of families demanding truth and justice must be heard.”
These allegations come at a time when concerns about the security situation and human rights in Balochistan are intensifying. The Pakistani government and security agencies have historically denied such allegations, while human rights groups are calling for independent and impartial investigations.
