Rising Tensions in Mira Road: Calls for Action After Attack on Security Guards

Mumbai, April 29: Tensions are escalating in Mira Road’s Nayanagar area following a violent incident where Jubair Ansari attacked security guards Rajkumar Mishra and Subrato with a knife. The attack was reportedly motivated by the victims’ Hindu identity and their inability to recite the Kalma. This incident has sparked significant political discourse in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane condemned the attack, emphasizing the need for strict action against those involved. He accused certain elements in the area of attempting to disrupt communal harmony.

Rane stated, “I have always said that the people of Nayanagar in Mira Road act like jihadists, aiming to turn it into a mini Pakistan. This is why we are witnessing cases of love jihad and land jihad. Just as we saw during the Pahalgam attack, where individuals recited the Kalma and applied sindoor, it is now time for an ‘Operation Sindoor’ in Nayanagar to eliminate those with a jihadist mindset.”

In response to criticism regarding a recent RSS event at Jamia University in Delhi, Rane defended the right to hold such programs. He remarked, “They seem to forget that our country is a Hindu nation. Each of them has a nationalist organization known as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The RSS has been around for 100 years, and today it exemplifies true nationalism.”

The investigation into the attack on the security guards has been handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The ATS conducted a search of Jubair’s residence, uncovering literature related to ISIS, Islamic extremism, and lone wolf attacks. Jubair’s parents are currently in the United States, and the government is coordinating with the embassy to provide official information.
