Noida, February 25: The weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) is gradually shifting. According to the latest report from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), both maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to rise in the coming days.

However, strong surface winds are also anticipated during the daytime. Despite this, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is projected to move from severe to extremely severe levels, raising concerns among residents.

On February 25, the maximum temperature recorded was 30 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 13 degrees Celsius. The forecast for February 26 predicts a maximum of 31 degrees and a minimum of 14 degrees. By February 27, the maximum temperature could reach 32 degrees, with a minimum of 15 degrees Celsius.

Strong surface winds are expected on February 25 and 26, while light mist is forecasted for February 27. Currently, no warnings have been issued for any day. However, the air quality situation in Delhi remains alarming.

Monitoring stations across Delhi have reported AQI levels reaching severe levels. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 342, categorizing it as extremely severe. Other areas reported AQIs of 256 in Alipur, 258 in Ashok Vihar, 279 in Bawana, 265 in Burari Crossing, 275 in Chandni Chowk, 221 at CRRI Mathura Road, 219 at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, 229 at DTU, and 192 in Aaya Nagar (close to moderate to poor category).

In Noida, Sector 125 recorded an AQI of 244, Sector 62 at 227, Sector 1 at 206, and Sector 116 at 222. Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, Indirapuram reported an AQI of 283, Loni at 289, Sanjay Nagar at 204, and Vasundhara at 281. Experts suggest that the rise in temperature and local pollution sources are affecting air quality. While strong winds may provide some relief, residents of NCR need to remain vigilant about pollution levels.
