New Delhi, March 5: The weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) is gradually changing. According to the latest forecast from the meteorological department, both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to rise starting March 6. Over the coming days, the minimum temperature is likely to increase, making nights feel warmer than before.
The meteorological department predicts that the skies will remain mostly clear on March 6 and 7. There are no warnings for significant weather changes or adverse conditions during this period. The maximum temperature in the capital is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be approximately 17 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels in the atmosphere are projected to range between 40 to 80 percent. Meteorologists indicate that the combination of strong sunlight during the day and rising nighttime temperatures will gradually intensify the heat.
Alongside this weather change, residents of NCR are also experiencing relief from pollution. In recent days, improvements in the Air Quality Index (AQI) have been noted, with many areas now approaching ‘moderate’ or ‘satisfactory’ categories. This has provided residents with the opportunity to breathe cleaner air.
According to data from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), several regions in the capital recorded AQI levels within controlled limits. Anand Vihar reported an AQI of 166, Bawana at 147, Ashram Chowk at 126, and CRRI Mathura Road at 117. Similarly, Alipur recorded 124, Chandni Chowk at 132, and Aya Nagar at 121. In containment zones, levels were noted at 127, Burari Crossing at 114, and Ashok Vihar at 134.
Other cities in NCR also witnessed improvements in air quality. In Noida, Sector 116 recorded an AQI of 136, Sector 1 at 133, Sector 125 at 132, and the IMD station in Sector 62 at 124. In Ghaziabad, Indirapuram reported 130, Vasundhara at 129, and Sahyog Nagar at 123, while the Loni area recorded a level of 177, still within the upper range of the moderate category.
Weather experts believe that the increase in temperature and surface wind speeds is aiding in the dispersion of pollutant particles. This suggests that further improvements in air quality are expected in the coming days.
