Lucknow, June 8: BJP MP Dinesh Sharma commented on AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s proposed religious tour, stating that while it is a personal choice where one goes, it is essential to remember historical events and India’s brave heroes. He emphasized that instead of showing unnecessary sympathy towards the invaders against whom the nation’s heroes fought, true patriots deserve respect.
In a conversation with a news agency, Sharma also targeted Akhilesh Yadav, asserting that controversies should not arise regarding Lord Ram and related topics without factual basis. Champat Rai, a trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has already clarified the stance on this issue, so misleading statements about any religious site or center of faith should be avoided.
Sharma stressed the need for caution in matters related to religious sentiments, urging leaders to refrain from making unverified accusations that could tarnish an institution’s image.
Regarding the India Alliance meeting, Sharma remarked that opposition members do not appear united. He claimed that the opposition coalition exists only in name.
He asserted that the public has completely rejected the opposition alliance, leaving them on the back foot. Sharma noted that opposition parties have frequently accused one another in various states, and there have been instances where allies have called each other deceitful. He cited the public disagreements between the Samajwadi Party and Congress after elections as an example.
Describing the India Alliance as a “divisive coalition,” Sharma stated that it comprises parties lacking a clear vision for national interests. According to him, this alliance was formed solely for the sake of power and suffers from a lack of mutual trust. He also mentioned that coalition members frequently accuse one another, raising questions about the stability of the alliance.
