Reliance Jio continues to be the most affordable choice for mobile users compared to other telecom operators in India, according to a recent plan analysis report by BNP Paribas. The report highlights that while the three major telecom operators—Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi)—have aligned their pricing for popular recharge plans, Jio still provides higher data benefits at similar price points.
The report stated, “Charges from all three operators for the 28-day plan will be INR 299, with Jio still offering higher data limits versus competition. This is similar to what we have seen in the annual plans earlier, with popular plans at INR 3,599, in which Jio offers 2.5GB/day versus Airtel/VIL at 2GB/day.” This makes Jio a more cost-effective option, especially for data-heavy customers.
Popular and Exclusive Plans
Among the widely used plans, the Rs 799 plan offers 1.5 GB of data per day for 84 days and is easily accessible through platforms such as PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, and Jio’s official website. Meanwhile, the Rs 249 plan is available only at physical Jio Stores, and the Rs 209 plan can be availed exclusively on the MyJio app.
For users who prefer voice services, Jio continues to offer the Rs 189 plan, which includes unlimited voice calls and SMS with a 28-day validity and 2 GB of data. For data users, the company offers several options across price points:

The analysis also pointed out that Jio customers enjoy a Rs 50 advantage per month compared to similar plans from Airtel and Vi. For instance, the 1.5 GB per day, 28-day plan costs Rs 299 for Jio, while Airtel and Vi charge Rs 349 for the same benefits, resulting in a monthly saving of Rs 50 for Jio users. Similarly, for the 2 GB per day, 28-day plan, Jio’s price is Rs 349, compared to Rs 398 for Airtel and Rs 365 for Vi—providing a saving of Rs 49 compared to Airtel and Rs 16 compared to Vi.
