Mumbai, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Rasika Duggal believes that films like “Little Thomas” play a crucial role for children, providing them with opportunities to connect with their experiences and emotions. In the movie, she portrays the character of Jesse Miranda.
Duggal emphasizes that such narratives not only entertain children but also encourage them to ask questions, imagine, and understand the world around them. She stated, “Cinema is a wonderful way to expand your world and promote imagination. The thoughts we develop as we grow often connect back to the films we watched in childhood.”
Discussing the need for quality films for children, she remarked, “We need movies that children can relate to. Such films should embrace their curiosity instead of ignoring it.”
The actress also noted that entertaining films for children can be meaningful without being overly simplistic. “These kinds of films can engage children. I hope more filmmakers explore stories that children can enjoy, opening new possibilities for their imagination,” she added.
Directed by Kaushal Ojha, “Little Thomas” depicts the ups and downs of a seven-year-old Thomas and his family in 1990s Goa, reminiscent of “Malgudi Days” and the tales of Ruskin Bond. The film features Gulshan Devaiah, Rasika Duggal, and child actor Hridaansh Parekh in leading roles.
In the film, Duggal plays Jesse Miranda, a mother whose world revolves around her family, their bakery, and her passion for music. The narrative aims to present the world through a child’s eyes, highlighting the spontaneous and unexpected conversations that arise from childhood curiosity. “Little Thomas” encapsulates this perspective, centering around a family environment where a child’s innocent questions lead to intriguing situations.
