
Patna, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) in Patna hosted a mini expo and exhibition on traditional foods to celebrate the 11th Ayurveda Day on September 23. This year’s theme, “Ayurveda for a Healthy Tomorrow,” aimed to raise awareness about Ayurveda, traditional nutritious foods, millets (Shri Anna), and healthy lifestyle habits.
Dr. Krishna Pandey, Director of ICMR-RMNIHNR, inaugurated the event. Dr. Banmali Das, in charge of RARI, emphasized the importance of traditional and nutritious foods described in Ayurveda. He highlighted the role of local, seasonal, and diverse grains in a balanced diet.
The mini expo showcased local ingredients, millets, and traditional dishes rich in health benefits. Visitors learned about their nutritional significance and how to incorporate them into daily meals.
During the event, health checks and medical tests were conducted for patients and their families. Ayurvedic medicines were distributed as needed. Additionally, books and educational materials on Ayurveda, nutrition, disease prevention, and healthy living were provided.
Participants were educated on the importance of balanced nutrition, regular routines, proper eating habits, yoga, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Special emphasis was placed on adopting diets and lifestyles according to seasonal changes and individual constitutions, in line with Ayurvedic principles.
Dr. Balaji Potbhare, the nodal officer for Ayurveda Day, along with research officers Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha, Dr. Ritika Mishra, and Dr. Kumari Archana, contributed to organizing the event. The enthusiastic participation of patients, their families, and the general public promoted awareness of nutritious and balanced diets, traditional dietary practices, and Ayurveda-based healthy living.
