Ranveer Singh Begins Shooting for Pralay After FWICE Ban Lifted

Mumbai, August 16: Actor Ranveer Singh has commenced preparations for his upcoming film ‘Pralay’. The shooting has officially started in Mumbai. Notably, this marks Ranveer’s first project since the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) lifted the ban imposed on him.

There is significant excitement surrounding ‘Pralay’ as it features Ranveer in a unique genre— a zombie apocalypse thriller.

Earlier this year in May, FWICE had issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer following his unexpected exit from Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘Don 3’. This decision led to over 400,000 industry workers being instructed not to collaborate with him, placing the actor in the spotlight. However, on June 3, FWICE lifted the ban against him.

With the ban now lifted, Ranveer has begun shooting for his next major project, ‘Pralay’.

Described as a zombie apocalypse thriller, the film will also star Kalyani Priyadarshan, known for her role in ‘Loka’, alongside Ranveer. The storyline revolves around humanity’s struggle in the face of impending doom. It explores a time when the world is on the brink of collapse, presenting new challenges at every turn. This survival angle aims to differentiate ‘Pralay’ from typical zombie films.

Reports indicate that the filmmakers intend to use real locations and authentic settings to enhance the story’s natural and impactful feel.

The film is directed by Jay Mehta, who has previously worked on notable projects like ‘Lutere’ and ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’.

On a personal note, Ranveer is also experiencing joy in his life as he and his wife, Deepika Padukone, are set to welcome their second child. The couple announced their pregnancy in April via social media, sharing an adorable picture of their daughter, Dua, holding a positive pregnancy test.
