Rampur Achieves 100% Farmer ID Registration, Leading Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, March 18: In a significant move to enhance the income of farmers and ensure they benefit from government schemes, Uttar Pradesh has initiated a campaign for farmer registration (Farmer ID). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that the goal of achieving 100% Farmer ID registration for the state’s farmers be pursued from January 1, with the campaign set to continue until March 31.

In this context, the Rampur district administration has successfully completed the goal of registering 100% Farmer IDs ahead of the March 31 deadline. This achievement places Rampur at the forefront of the state, with Ghaziabad and Ambedkarnagar following in second and third place, respectively.

The target for Farmer ID registrations in Uttar Pradesh is set at 28,870,495 farmers. So far, 19,942,798 Farmer IDs have been registered. District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi stated that a special campaign has been underway since January 1 to fulfill the Chief Minister’s vision of achieving 100% Farmer ID registration. To raise awareness among farmers, various initiatives such as farmer meetings, cultural programs in villages, hoardings, and open forums at the village panchayat level have been organized.

Additionally, promotional activities have included wall paintings and outreach vehicles. Employees from the revenue, agriculture, panchayati raj, rural development, and sugarcane departments have been instructed to visit farmers’ homes for Farmer ID registration. The District Magistrate reviews the campaign weekly, rewarding high-performing employees while taking punitive action against those with lower progress.

Dwivedi noted that Rampur was assigned a total target of 209,828 Farmer IDs by March 31. As of March 17, the district achieved 100% registration, successfully completing 209,828 Farmer IDs. Previously, Rampur had also received the first prize in the state for being the first to complete 50% of the Farmer ID registrations.

In addition, Ghaziabad has registered 36,598 Farmer IDs against a target of 38,909, placing it second in the state. Ambedkarnagar has achieved third place by registering 310,145 Farmer IDs against a target of 342,847. Other districts such as Auraiya, Barabanki, Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Kannauj, Mirzapur, and Bijnor have also made it to the top ten.

The benefits of Farmer ID registration include uninterrupted access to the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, easier procurement of fertilizers at fixed prices, and the elimination of document verification requirements for obtaining farmer credit cards. Furthermore, farmers will be exempt from repetitive document verification to participate in new state and central government schemes. Inclusion in the AgriStack will facilitate quick and convenient sales of products at MSP through digital crop surveys.
