New Delhi, March 25: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has shared his views on the rising tensions in the Middle East, the all-party meeting, and the recent phone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Athawale stated, “I believe that President Trump spoke with Prime Minister Modi regarding the current war situation. It seems that there is a possibility to halt the war, and it may end soon. India and Prime Minister Modi’s role is to ensure peace and prevent war. The ongoing conflict is causing a spike in gas and diesel prices, leading to significant losses worldwide. Therefore, India’s role is to expedite the end of the war and seek alternatives.”
Regarding the all-party meeting, the minister remarked, “Leaders from all parties have expressed the need for an all-party meeting. We have been busy with the session, which is why the meeting is scheduled for this evening. Everyone will participate. The opposition has every right to voice their opinions. However, I have learned that Rahul Gandhi has stated that Congress will not attend the meeting. This is not a positive development. It is ironic that Rahul Gandhi, who has complained about the lack of an all-party meeting, is now choosing not to participate. In times of crisis, it is essential for both the ruling and opposition parties to come together to discuss and find solutions.”
Earlier, Ramdas Athawale, the national president of the Republican Party of India and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday. Athawale expressed gratitude to Modi for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Rajya Sabha for the third time. He emphasized the importance of working alongside the Bharatiya Janata Party to promote social justice, inclusive development, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. During the meeting, he also raised the issue of increasing scholarships for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) students to enhance educational and employment opportunities for these youth.
