Ram Kapoor Shares His Love Story: Gautamis Struggles in First Marriage

Mumbai, July 15: Popular television actor Ram Kapoor is currently a contestant on the reality show ‘Lock Up: Truth or Punishment.’ During the show, he opened up about his love story and the challenging phase Gautami Kapoor faced in her first marriage. He shared how their friendship gradually blossomed into love and how he supported Gautami during her difficult times.

In a conversation with Akanksha Chamola and Pamela Serena on the show, Ram stated, “Gautami and I are a very strong couple. Typically, when someone likes another person, they only share their good traits. However, I did the opposite. I revealed all my flaws and bad habits to Gautami from the start. I thought she might distance herself from me, but that didn’t happen. Despite knowing my shortcomings, she began to like me.”

Ram recounted that they first met in 2000 on the set of the TV series ‘Ghar Ek Mandir.’ As they worked together, their friendship deepened. They began to share personal details about their lives.

He mentioned, “Gradually, I learned that Gautami was unhappy in her first marriage. It lasted about two and a half years, but they spent most of that time apart. Our friendship had grown so deep that I would ask her questions about her life, and she trusted me enough to share everything.”

Ram revealed that during this time, he discovered Gautami wanted to end her first marriage, but she lacked full support from her family.

“When I found out she wanted a divorce, it became clear that her family was against her decision. She wasn’t receiving the support she needed at that moment,” he said.

Ram added, “When Gautami decided to separate from her first husband, Madhur Shroff, I stood by her as a friend. I told her that if she needed any help, I would always be there for her. During that time, I became her closest friend. My only concern was to provide her with emotional support.”

Ram realized he was in love during the filming of ‘Monsoon Wedding.’ While shooting in Delhi, he would have long phone conversations with Gautami every night.

He said, “After one lengthy call, I suddenly felt that I missed her a lot. This realization was new for me, and I felt a bit anxious. Gautami was such a wonderful person. I tried to distance myself for a while, but I couldn’t last long. She sensed my distance and eventually asked me what was wrong.”

Ram later discovered that Gautami had similar feelings for him but was hesitant to express them. Ultimately, they decided to give their relationship a chance.

He noted that Gautami has no regrets about her past. Her first husband is a good man who did nothing wrong. Sometimes relationships end simply because two people are not right for each other, and no one should be blamed.

After dating for nearly two years, Ram Kapoor and Gautami Kapoor tied the knot in 2003. Today, they are proud parents of two children and are regarded as one of the most successful and resilient couples in the television industry.
