Lucknow, July 18: Om Prakash Rajbhar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and national president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, has launched a fierce attack on Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav regarding the ongoing actions against Johar University. He accused Yadav of being anxious about the legal proceedings against the university, which he claims was built using government resources and land. Rajbhar suggested that instead of being restless, the SP leadership should engage in self-reflection.
Rajbhar took to social media platform X, stating, “Dear Akhilesh, if the law is doing its job regarding Johar University, I hope you are indeed anxious. Aren’t you? Be honest.” He further questioned the origins of the billions of rupees and land used to establish Johar University during Yadav’s government, pointing out that it was constructed by Azam Khan. He emphasized that the resources belonged to the government, and the trust was created by Khan, while the tax contributions came from Hindus, and jobs were awarded to Khan’s relatives.
He stated that the shameful actions taken by Azam Khan, in collaboration with Yadav’s family, should evoke embarrassment. With the current actions against the university, he questioned why there was an increase in anxiety. Rajbhar reminded that this is a double-engine government, and bulldozers will indeed target illegal structures. He advised not to feel restless during times of repentance and suggested that one should feel remorse instead. He concluded with a traditional saying, “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
It is noteworthy that the Uttar Pradesh government recently directed the demolition of certain constructions at Mohammad Ali Johar University in Rampur, which were found to be illegal during an investigation. The administration stated that actions are being taken under legal procedures concerning encroachments on government land and violations of regulations. This issue has intensified political rhetoric, with both sides exchanging accusations.
