Rajasthan Gets No Relief Despite CM’s 60 Delhi Visits: Govind Singh Dotasra

Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra has criticised the Union Budget, calling it “highly disappointing” for the state. He alleged that despite Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s nearly 60 visits to Delhi over the past two years, Rajasthan has not secured any financial allocation or special package in the budget.

Speaking to the media at his residence in Sikar, Dotasra said, “If even the flyers distributed during the assembly elections had been included with the budget, there would have been some mention of Rajasthan. But this time, there is absolutely nothing for the state.”

He further added that the budget has failed to provide relief to the poor, Dalits, backward classes, underdeveloped regions, or rural areas of Rajasthan. Important sectors crucial to the state’s development have been completely ignored.

Dotasra highlighted the vast tourism potential of Rajasthan, lamenting the absence of any special tourism package. He pointed out that despite demands for a mission similar to the Jal Jeevan Mission, no such initiative was announced. Key projects such as the ERCP, Mangarh Dham, tourism, and water-related schemes were also left out.

The Congress leader also noted that although the Prime Minister and Chief Minister frequently mention the National Capital Region Project (NCRP) and other national initiatives, these were not reflected in the budget. “Announcements were made for Rajasthan, but there has been no change in allocations,” he said.

Dotasra expressed disappointment over the lack of income tax relief for government employees and raised concerns about unemployment, water shortages, and rising economic stress in the state. He criticised the central government’s promise of creating two crore jobs annually, saying there were no concrete announcements regarding employment.

Referring to the stock market reaction, Dotasra claimed the budget failed to meet public expectations. He remarked, “If the market falls after the budget, it clearly shows the public’s disappointment. Farmers were promised double income, yet their burden has only increased.”

He also mocked BJP leaders who praised the budget, accusing them of trying to please the high command and secure their positions. “They talk about India becoming a developed nation by 2047, but who has seen 2047? Today, people are unemployed, employees are troubled, and salaries don’t last even 15 days,” he said.

Dotasra alleged that the budget favoured states heading towards elections, while Rajasthan was neglected due to the absence of polls in the next three years. “Rajasthan contributes to GST and has a legitimate claim on central funds, yet this budget has given nothing to the state,” he concluded.
