Rajasthan Courts on High Alert Following Bomb Threat Emails

Jaipur, March 9: Courts in the Barmer and Nagaur districts of Rajasthan were placed on high alert on Monday after receiving bomb threat emails.

Authorities quickly evacuated the court premises and initiated a thorough search operation with the help of bomb disposal squads and search teams. Officials reported that the threatening emails contained similar content.

The emails referenced terrorist Ajmal Kasab and warned of a potential explosion before 1 PM. One message stated, “I do not know the exact time of the explosion, but it may happen before 1 PM. Do not take any risks. This is not a false threat. Some bombs have been dropped by drones. The exact location is unknown, but check the rooftops.”

Panic ensued on Monday morning when a threatening email was sent to the official email address of the district judge at the Barmer court. The police acted swiftly, evacuating the premises and launching a search operation.

Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena arrived at the scene with senior officials, while dog squads and bomb disposal teams were deployed for a comprehensive search.

As a precaution, security has been heightened around the court premises. The police have begun an investigation to trace the source of the email and identify the sender, with cyber experts assisting in the inquiry.

This is not the first bomb threat; Barmer’s collectorate received a similar threat on December 25, 2025. Meanwhile, the district judge’s court in Medta, Nagaur, was evacuated late Sunday night after receiving a similar threatening email.

According to officials, the email arrived around 10:20 PM. Upon receiving the information, bomb disposal and police teams quickly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough inspection.

Intelligence agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), have also launched an investigation into the threat. The court premises have been temporarily sealed, and security measures in the surrounding areas have been significantly increased.

Officials noted that this is the second bomb-related threat in the district within a week. Police in both districts have issued a high alert and strengthened security arrangements at court complexes.

Search dog units, bomb disposal teams, and additional police personnel have been deployed, while surveillance in surrounding areas has been intensified.

Authorities stated that all precautionary measures are being taken to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the safety of court staff, lawyers, and visitors.
