Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma Hits Back at Ashok Gehlots Criticism

Jaipur, March 17: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched a sharp attack on former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday. This confrontation arose after Gehlot questioned Sharma’s trips to Delhi, igniting a new political clash in the state.

During an event at Tagore International School in Mansarovar, the Chief Minister indirectly criticized Gehlot’s tenure. Without directly referencing the political crisis of 2020, he remarked that Gehlot spent his time relaxing in hotels. He stated that whenever Gehlot stepped out, he appeared unfit for work.

Sharma questioned Gehlot’s work ethic, asserting that his administration is committed to continuous service. He emphasized that they remain active and focused on serving the public without interruption.

Addressing the ‘Rajasthan Youth Power Day’ event, part of the Rajasthan Day celebrations, Sharma claimed that his government and public representatives are working tirelessly for the welfare of citizens. He accused the opposition of evading accountability.

He expressed frustration that the opposition is unwilling to compare their two-year term’s achievements with Gehlot’s five-year tenure. To avoid such discussions, they have left the assembly. Sharma mentioned that he had presented a comprehensive report on his government’s accomplishments in the assembly and challenged the opposition to do the same, but received no response.

In response to criticism regarding his trips to Delhi, he stated that questions arise about whether he should work according to someone else’s wishes. He affirmed that his government will do whatever is necessary for the people of Rajasthan. He insisted that the opposition’s criticism would not affect his government’s operations.

Targeting the previous Congress government, Sharma accused them of irregularities in the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and stated that actions have been taken against several individuals due to corruption cases. He assured that strict action would continue against anyone found guilty.

Reflecting on his recent trip to Delhi, he claimed that he always returns with concrete results. He noted that his recent meetings have yielded tangible outcomes. During this time, he also mentioned improvements in the state’s financial indicators, stating that the fiscal deficit has been reduced and per capita income has increased from 1.67 lakh to over 2 lakh rupees.
