Rajasthan Chief Minister Issues Warning Against Delays in Public Welfare Projects

Jaipur, June 19: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma issued a stern warning on Friday regarding delays in public welfare projects. He emphasized that administrative negligence affecting essential services such as water supply, electricity, healthcare, and roads will not be tolerated.

While presiding over the sixth ‘Raj Unnati’ meeting at the Chief Minister’s office, Sharma stated that officials would be held accountable for delays in project implementation. He added that strict action would be taken against them where necessary.

During the review of major development projects, the Chief Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the delays in the construction of the CETP pumping station and pipeline project in Sanganer. He instructed officials to conduct site inspections and ensure the project is completed promptly.

Sharma directed the Chief Secretary to streamline processes related to project approvals, land acquisition, tendering, and issuing work orders to minimize implementation time.

In a significant administrative move, the Chief Minister ordered the suspension of over half a dozen officials, including the Secretary of the Urban Traffic Department, for issuing two separate leases for the same plot and granting commercial leases on land reserved for public facilities.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to quick resolution of complaints, Sharma instructed officials to prepare district-wise reports on grievances received through the contact portal.

During a video conference, a resident from Hanumangarh thanked the Chief Minister for removing encroachments from a 40-year-old public road.

Following this, Sharma directed district collectors to organize service camps for resolving encroachments and revenue-related issues. He also instructed them to complete drain cleaning and road repair work before the monsoon and ensure preparedness for seasonal diseases.

Additionally, he ordered the Chief Secretary to conduct monthly reviews of major projects and established a committee to monitor the procurement and availability of medicines in government hospitals.
