Rajasthan Chief Minister Announces Brahmagupta Award and Innovation Center for Youth

Jaipur, May 12: On the occasion of National Technology Day, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced the Brahmagupta Award in Rajasthan. This award recognizes exceptional contributions in science, mathematics, innovation, and research. It is named after the renowned 7th-century mathematician and astronomer, Brahmagupta.

Additionally, the Chief Minister revealed plans for an innovation center aimed at fostering startups, creativity, and technological entrepreneurship among the state’s students and young innovators. This center will be established in Jaipur’s coaching hub.

Sharma emphasized that individuals driven by curiosity who overcome challenges ultimately achieve success. He urged the youth to promote innovation and contribute to making Rajasthan a leader in the global technology sector, thereby helping realize the dream of a self-reliant India.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting young innovators and encouraged them to take full advantage of initiatives like ‘My India’, ‘iStart’, and the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme.

He noted that a robust ecosystem is being developed in the state through startups, skill development, research, and digital services. Sharma made these remarks while addressing the state-level National Technology Day event at Birla Auditorium in Jaipur.

He stated that May 11 is not just a date but a symbol of confidence, self-reliance, and national pride. He referred to India’s 1998 Pokhran nuclear tests as a decisive moment for scientific capability and national resolve.

The Chief Minister highlighted that India is no longer just a consumer of technology but is rapidly becoming a producer and exporter of innovation. He mentioned achievements during the COVID-19 pandemic, including vaccine development, the Chandrayaan space mission, and successes under the Make in India initiative, such as the Tejas fighter jet, Arjun tank, and Prachand helicopter.

He also shed light on India’s growing advancements in artificial intelligence and research-based innovation, stating that the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan’ is now becoming a reality.
