Jaipur, 21 August (Kiran News). The monsoon has picked up pace once again in Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for 28 districts in the state on Thursday. In Jaipur and Kota, rain that started on Wednesday evening continued intermittently on Thursday as well. The Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, has issued immediate warnings, placing several districts under Orange and Yellow alerts. As per the forecast, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in Jaipur, Ajmer, Nagaur, Dausa, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Tonk, Bundi, Baran, Kota, and Jhalawar, among other districts.

On Wednesday afternoon, light showers were reported in several places including Jaipur, Tonk, Bhilwara, Karauli, Bharatpur, Ajmer, and Pali. Jhalawar received two inches of rainfall. The rain in Jaipur on Wednesday evening brought much-needed relief from the humidity and heat. However, rain and strong winds caused trees to fall in some areas and disrupted power supply late into the night. Waterlogging in low-lying areas also caused inconvenience to residents.
