Punjab Man Charged in Rajasthan for Anti-National Social Media Activities

Jaipur, May 8: A case has been registered against Gurvinder Singh from Punjab at the Sadar Patti police station in Tarn Taran district, based on intelligence received from the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad. The police discovered pro-Khalistan content linked to him on various platforms.

Authorities are now expanding their investigation to uncover a broader network and identify potential associates involved in anti-national activities. This action was taken under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.

Officials reported that the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad identified a suspect in Punjab, allegedly connected to a pro-Khalistan and Pakistan-supporting propaganda network, as part of a crackdown on anti-national activities conducted through social media platforms.

Under the direction of Additional Director General Dinesh MN and the supervision of Inspector General Rajesh Singh, the social media monitoring unit of the Anti-Terrorism Squad executed this operation.

Led by Inspector Nisha Chawaria, the squad monitored suspicious online activities and found multiple objectionable posts, videos, chats, and comments linked to Gurvinder Singh.

A team from the Anti-Terrorism Squad, under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Surendra Singh, has been dispatched to Punjab for further investigation.

Digital analysis revealed communications with suspected individuals and members associated with the banned terrorist organization ‘The Resistance Front,’ alongside pro-Khalistan and Pakistan-supporting content.

Investigators have also recovered chat logs and voice notes discussing the procurement of an AK-47 rifle and grenades for alleged terrorist activities.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad further claimed that the accused recorded videos of a restricted location belonging to the Border Security Force and shared them with handlers based in Pakistan.
