PSL 2026 Set to Kick Off on Schedule, Confirms PCB

New Delhi, March 20: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has put an end to speculation regarding the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, confirming that the tournament will commence as scheduled on March 26. The board stated that no foreign players have withdrawn their participation.

The PCB’s clear message is that PSL 2026 will start on time, with foreign players available. The match in Peshawar is still on the schedule, and the league is progressing with full preparations. This announcement reflects the tournament’s credibility and the PCB’s commitment to maintaining focus on cricket.

The board mentioned that all match and franchise preparations are ongoing as planned. Training sessions are set for March 24 and 25, ensuring timely arrival for players and support staff.

Additionally, the board noted that if circumstances change suddenly, the UAE is available as an alternative venue. However, there are currently no plans to shift any matches out of Pakistan. The PCB clarified that the league will be conducted in an organized manner.

PSL 2026 marks the 11th season of the league, featuring eight teams. A total of 44 matches will be played across six cities. This season’s matches will take place in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Faisalabad. The opening match on March 26 will be held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, featuring the defending champions Lahore Qalandars against the new team, Hyderabad Kings, which will begin its journey in the league this season.

The PCB released the complete schedule earlier this month.

This statement from the board comes amid media reports questioning whether Australian and other foreign players would travel to Pakistan amid regional tensions. Concerns have been raised regarding the sole match in Peshawar due to escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, as well as ongoing conflicts in the region involving Iran and the Israel-U.S. situation.
