Kerala, March 26: In a thrilling encounter on Thursday, Shillong Lajong FC triumphed over Gokulam Kerala FC with a score of 2-0 in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26. The match took place at the Payyanad Stadium in Kerala, where Everbrightson Sna Mayliempadah and Tremiki Lamurong each netted a goal.
With this win, Shillong Lajong has climbed into the top three, accumulating 10 points, matching the points and goal difference of Srinidhi Deccan FC and Diamond Harbour FC. Meanwhile, Gokulam Kerala, known as ‘The Malabarians,’ slipped to eighth place with five points from the same number of matches. Tremiki Lamurong was named ‘Player of the Match.’
The match kicked off at a fast pace, with both teams eager to attack. However, they struggled to deliver the final pass in the early moments. In the 15th minute, Gokulam was forced to make an early substitution due to an injury to Kingsley Fernandes, bringing Ashish Pradhan onto the field.
