Protests Erupt in Pakistan Against Attacks on Iran; Former Ambassador Urges Withdrawal from Peace Board

Islamabad, March 3: Protests against attacks on Iran have turned violent in Pakistan. The U.S. Embassy was targeted, and lawmakers raised their voices in opposition. During President Asif Ali Zardari’s address in Parliament, chants of “Get out of the fake Board of Peace” echoed throughout the hall. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has also stated that war poses a significant threat to Pakistan.

In a social media post, Khawaja Asif identified Zionism as a primary cause of instability in the Muslim world, labeling it a danger to humanity. He warned that the ongoing conflict with Iran jeopardizes Pakistan’s security. He pointed out that since Israel’s establishment on Palestinian land, the Islamic world has faced numerous crises and wars directly linked to Zionist ideology and Israel’s influence.

Asif remarked that despite Iran’s willingness to negotiate, war has been imposed upon them, which he claims is part of a Zionist agenda aimed at extending Israel’s influence to Pakistan’s borders. He expressed concerns that an anti-Pakistan agenda is being formulated involving Afghanistan, Iran, and India, intending to make Pakistan’s borders insecure and weaken the nation.

Meanwhile, a former ambassador has advised the Pakistani government to withdraw from the Peace Board. Maliha Lodhi stated that the Sharif administration should exit the board established by Trump. She expressed on social media that Pakistan should not have joined the board in the first place, accusing the Trump administration of attacking multiple countries and playing a role in Israeli actions in Gaza.
