Chennai, April 12: BJP leader Narayanan Tirupati recently stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special place in the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that Modi has done a lot for the Tamil community and the state. “We are all eager to meet the Prime Minister. The people of Tamil Nadu have always supported him,” he said.
Targeting the DMK, Narayanan Tirupati criticized their announcement of an 8000 rupee coupon scheme. He noted that the DMK claims they will distribute these coupons if they return to power, allowing people to redeem them at local home appliance stores for items like televisions, washing machines, and refrigerators. “In Tamil Nadu, every household already has essential items like refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions,” he added.
On the topic of the Women’s Reservation Bill, Narayanan Tirupati expressed that the BJP has long advocated for women’s empowerment and the bill itself. “Thanks to Prime Minister Modi, we have been able to advance this cause. Unfortunately, it is disheartening that the DMK and Congress do not wish to empower women,” he remarked.
Regarding the leak of the film ‘Jan Nayakan’ by TVK leader Vijay, Narayanan Tirupati described the comments as irresponsible. He pointed out that the CBFC had clearly stated that the film’s key was handed over on March 17, and it would only be in the possession of the producers or director. “There is no question of it being handled otherwise,” he concluded.
