New Delhi, April 18: Following the defeat of the constitutional amendment bill related to the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ in the Lok Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have decided to stage significant protests across the country against the opposition. The BJP asserts that the opposition has unjustly denied women’s reservation, affecting half of the nation’s population.
In a meeting that lasted nearly two hours at the BJP’s central office, discussions were held with various women’s groups. All female MPs and ministers were assigned the responsibility of organizing state-wise protests and press conferences. The BJP’s women’s wing in Delhi has been given special duties, with plans for demonstrations in all Lok Sabha constituencies in the capital.
Major events will also be organized in BJP-ruled states. The party aims to expose the opposition’s anti-women stance to the public. BJP leaders allege that the opposition has deliberately thwarted efforts to empower women. The message to be conveyed through these protests is that the ruling party is fighting for women’s rights, while the opposition is resisting these efforts.
Immediately after the bill’s defeat in the Lok Sabha, BJP’s female MPs protested within the Parliament premises, chanting slogans against the opposition. It was decided in the meeting that all NDA allies would actively participate in these protests. The party believes this issue is crucial for women’s future and it is essential to inform the public about the significant blow the opposition has dealt to women’s rights.
The BJP clarified that the protests will be peaceful but will strongly advocate for women’s rights. Women activists and leaders across various states will lead these initiatives. The party aims to generate public opinion on this issue and reveal the opposition’s intentions.
