Price Drop of ₹183.50 for Commercial LPG Cylinders Brings Relief to Businesses

New Delhi, July 1: A recent reduction of ₹183.50 in the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders has provided much-needed relief to hotels, restaurants, and small traders across the country. Business owners have welcomed the government’s decision, although many express ongoing concerns about fluctuating market prices.

Several shopkeepers and restaurant operators in Delhi reported that rising prices had previously caused significant challenges, directly impacting their businesses and customer traffic.

One shopkeeper shared with a news agency that when cylinder prices rise, they are forced to increase the prices of food items, leading to a drop in customers. The recent price cut has offered them some relief, allowing them to sell their products at more affordable rates.

Raju, a tea shop owner, noted that fluctuations in commercial LPG cylinder prices have become common. Prices may increase one month and decrease the next, creating challenges for small businesses that must adjust their prices monthly based on costs.

A restaurant owner acknowledged that while a reduction of over ₹183 per cylinder is helpful, it is insufficient given rising costs and other expenses. He urged the government to take steps to stabilize prices for better business operations.

Shopkeeper Sanjay Kumar mentioned that the price decrease could help curb black market activities and ensure easier availability of cylinders. Another shopkeeper, Anand, suggested that attention should also be given to the prices of other essential goods, as inflation impacts the entire business landscape.

Business owners have called on the government to develop a long-term policy to maintain stability in LPG prices, benefiting both businesses and consumers.

Mukesh Gupta, another shopkeeper, expressed his support for the government’s move, stating that this relief from oil companies will help reduce inflation, directly benefiting the public. He added that further price reductions would be welcome.

Shopkeeper Umesh also praised the government’s initiative, expressing hope that continued price cuts would benefit the public.
