
Patna, March 26: The capital of Bihar, Patna, along with towns and villages across the state, is set to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, known as Ram Navami, with great enthusiasm this Friday. Preparations are in the final stages, and the administration is ensuring robust security measures.
The streets of Patna are adorned with Mahaviri flags, banners, and Ramnam flags, creating a festive atmosphere. All temples in the state have been beautifully decorated with flowers and garlands. Special arrangements have been made at the famous Mahavir Temple, located near Patna Junction. The temple will open its doors at 2 AM on Friday. It is being decorated with lights and flowers, with blooms sourced from Kolkata.
After special prayers and rituals, devotees will have the opportunity to view the idols of Lord Hanuman within the temple. This year, temple management anticipates around five lakh devotees will visit. The management has announced that the first ten devotees in line on Ram Navami will be honored by the temple administration.
This year, 25,000 kilograms of naivedyam (specially prepared offerings) are being prepared for the occasion. Multiple counters will be set up for devotees to purchase naivedyam.
Sayaan Kunal, secretary of the Shri Mahavir Sthan Nyas Committee, stated that there will be a shower of flowers during the celebration of Ram Lalla’s birth. The crowd of devotees will be monitored by CCTV cameras, with an increased number of cameras compared to last year. On this Ram Navami, 52 processions will arrive at the temple carrying flags.
To facilitate viewing of the worship ceremony, 20 LED screens will be installed, allowing devotees in line to witness the proceedings. In Patna, a grand procession will take place in the evening, with all 52 processions converging at the Dak Bungalow Chowk, where they will be welcomed by dignitaries.
Additionally, security arrangements in Patna are being strengthened. Extra police officers and personnel have been deployed at various locations. This year, a three-layer security system has been implemented at the Mahavir Temple. Numerous CCTV cameras have been installed in and around the temple, with monitoring conducted from a modern control room.
