Mumbai, May 24: Actress Pooja Gaur, known for her strong performances across television and OTT platforms, has openly discussed the evolving landscape of drama in smaller towns. She believes that audiences are increasingly drawn to stories rooted in reality.
Famed for her role in “Man Ki Awaaz Pratigya,” Pooja Gaur states that viewers are now more interested in heartfelt narratives rather than glamorous tales.
In a special interview, Pooja shared, “Today’s audience is very interested in stories that resonate emotionally. Previously, glamorous narratives dominated, but now people want to see characters they can relate to, filled with genuine emotions.”
Referencing shows like “Mirzapur,” she noted that stories from smaller towns are creating a new atmosphere on OTT platforms. She also elaborated on her new web series, “Luteri Dulhan.”
Pooja explained, “What makes ‘Luteri Dulhan’ special is that it combines drama, comedy, action, suspense, and emotion all in one. It’s a family entertainer that brings everyone together. Despite its thrilling elements, it maintains a balance that sets it apart.”
In the series, Pooja plays Sub-Inspector Sandhya Yadav, a fearless and determined female officer investigating mysterious cases where brides disappear after robbing their grooms.
Regarding her character, Pooja shared, “I was most attracted to Sandhya’s emotional depth. She appears strong and brave on the outside, but internally, she struggles with expectations and the pressure to prove herself. She not only solves cases but also fights to establish her identity in a world where women are often defined in limited ways.”
Directed by Glen Barretto and Ankush Mohla, “Luteri Dulhan” was released on May 19 on the Hungama OTT platform.
