Patna, July 17: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has faced a significant political setback. Party spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari has resigned from all his positions. Following his resignation, he stated that he took this step due to a loss of dignity within the party. He made it clear that he stands firm on his decision and has no intention of retracting his resignation.
In a conversation, Tiwari expressed that he has worked for the party with loyalty, integrity, and dedication for a long time. He noted that when a devoted and loyal worker feels disrespected, it not only affects that individual but also saddens other party workers and leaders.
Tiwari mentioned that he had previously communicated his concerns to the party leadership. He also spoke with RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav about the matter, but felt his concerns were ignored. He indicated that he had raised his worries multiple times, but when there was no response, he felt he had no choice but to resign.
He stated, “Where there is no respect, there is no point in staying.” Tiwari admitted that his patience had worn thin, leading to his decision. He emphasized that he remains resolute in his choice after resigning.
When asked about his meeting with senior RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Tiwari shared that they have a personal and longstanding relationship. He described Siddiqui as family and noted that Siddiqui is also saddened by the recent events. Tiwari added that Siddiqui believes it is concerning for the party to lose a vocal and passionate spokesperson like him.
Rejecting any allegations of wrongdoing or indiscipline, Tiwari stated that if he had harmed the party or tarnished its image, it would have been a different matter. He has always worked for the party with honesty and dedication.
Tiwari concluded by asserting that his political career and commitment to the party are evident to all. He has consistently acted in the party’s best interest, and his record speaks for itself.
