Permanent Electricity Connections to Slums in BHEL Area Promised Within Five Months
The Madhya Pradesh government plans to provide permanent electricity connections to slum residents in the BHEL area within five months.

Bhopal, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Minister Vishwas Sarang held a meeting with officials to address the long-standing electricity issues in the slum areas of the BHEL region. He announced that within the next five months, a comprehensive infrastructure will be established to provide permanent electricity connections to all eligible residents.
During a media briefing, Sarang discussed the meeting with the Executive Director of BHEL and other administrative officials. He noted that the electricity problem in these slums has persisted for years, exacerbated by recent prolonged power outages that have caused significant distress among local residents. This meeting aimed to find a lasting solution to these issues.
A detailed action plan was developed during the discussions, focusing on ensuring a consistent electricity supply to the BHEL slums. The plan includes the establishment of a robust electrical infrastructure through the Madhya Pradesh Vidyut Mandal (MPVM) to facilitate permanent connections for slum dwellers.
Sarang emphasized that the revenue department, along with ADM, SDM, and BHEL officials, will collaborate to implement the plan effectively. All relevant departments are committed to ensuring that residents receive a reliable electricity supply.
He reiterated the agreement reached in the meeting to take concrete steps towards providing permanent electricity connections instead of temporary arrangements. The government’s goal is to resolve the electricity issues permanently, alleviating the frequent outages and connection-related problems faced by the community.
Sarang shared updates on social media platform X, stating that the meeting included discussions with officials from various departments, including police and MPVM, to ensure a systematic approach to providing permanent electricity connections in all slum areas under BHEL. This initiative aims to guarantee a stable power supply for residents, preventing them from facing recurrent electricity challenges.
