Mumbai, April 15: Xiaomi appears to have unveiled its upcoming budget smartphone, the Poco C81 Pro, ahead of schedule. The device briefly appeared on the company’s global website before being removed, but not before its specifications were noted.
The Poco C81 Pro is designed as a straightforward entry-level device. It emphasizes essential features, including a large display, a reliable battery, and sufficient performance for daily tasks.
The phone boasts a 6.9-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution. With a brightness level of up to 800 nits, it should perform well even in outdoor conditions.
Powered by the Unisoc T7250 processor, the device is tailored for lighter activities such as browsing, messaging, online payments, and social media. However, it only supports 4G connectivity, which may disappoint some users. The phone offers 4GB of RAM and storage options of up to 256GB, along with microSD card support.
In terms of photography, the Poco C81 Pro features a 13MP main camera on the rear and an 8MP front-facing camera. It lacks additional lenses or advanced features, sticking to the basics.
The standout feature is its 6000mAh battery, which should easily last a full day, depending on usage. However, charging is limited to 15W, meaning it won’t recharge quickly.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual SIM support, and likely a lightweight version of HyperOS, possibly based on Android Go. The overall concept is clear: this phone aims to be affordable while efficiently handling everyday tasks.
Although the listing has been removed, the specifications suggest it could be a rebranded version of the Redmi A7 Pro 4G, which launched globally earlier this month.
For now, it seems Xiaomi is sticking to its successful formula in this segment, keeping the design simple yet incorporating enough modern elements to appeal to users.
