What is PM Vishwakarma Yojana?

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is designed to benefit individuals who have traditional skills and are engaged in crafts such as goldsmithing, blacksmithing, barbering, and shoemaking. Under this scheme, artisans and craftsmen from both rural and urban areas are eligible for various benefits. The government has identified 18 traditional skilled trades for inclusion in the scheme.

  • Blacksmiths

  • Locksmiths

Benefits Available Under the Scheme

Eligible beneficiaries can receive the following:

  • A stipend of ₹500

  • Advance of ₹15,000 for purchasing tools

  • A collateral-free loan of up to ₹1 lakh, which is repayable in 18 months

  • Opportunity to apply for a higher loan amount in the future

  • Incentives and other welfare facilities

How to Apply for PM Vishwakarma Yojana

If you belong to one of the eligible trades and are at least 18 years old, you can apply by following these steps:

  1. Visit your nearest Jan Seva Kendra (Common Service Centre).

  2. Submit all relevant documents as required.

  3. If your application and documents are found to be correct, your application will be processed for benefits.
