PM Modi Shares Devotional Hymn for Navratri, Honors Goddess Siddhidatri

Prime Minister Modi honors Goddess Siddhidatri during Navratri, sharing a devotional hymn and wishing for a bright future for all.

New Delhi, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the ninth day of Navratri by paying homage to Goddess Siddhidatri. On Monday, he shared a YouTube link to a devotional hymn on the social media platform X, expressing his reverence for the goddess.

In his post, Modi wrote, “With the blessings of the goddess of renunciation and penance, Maa Mahagauri, may everyone’s future be bright. I wish for everyone to attain fame and glory in life.” The hymn, titled “Narayani Namastute,” features praises for the goddess sung by Virendra Krishna Bhadra, highlighting her divine qualities.

Earlier, Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse, which translates to, “Those who remember you with devotion will surely experience growth and prosperity. O Divine Mother, you protect those who think of you in times of trouble; there is no doubt about it.” This verse is the eighth shloka from the “Shri Devi Kavacham” (Durga Kavach).

On this final day of Navratri, devotees are worshipping Maa Siddhidatri. The name ‘Siddhi’ signifies perfection or power, while ‘Datri’ means giver. This goddess is believed to bestow eight types of siddhis, including Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghu, Praakamya, Ishitva, and Vashitva.

Maa Siddhidatri is depicted riding a lion and has four arms. In her right hands, she holds a mace and a discus, while her left hands are adorned with a lotus and a conch shell. This form of the goddess symbolizes strength, accomplishment, and divine knowledge.

According to mythological beliefs, Lord Shiva received many siddhis through the grace of Maa Siddhidatri. It is said that it was her blessings that allowed Shiva’s form to be half female, leading to the concept of Ardhanarishvara, which represents the inseparable unity of Shiva and Shakti and the balance of male and female energy in creation.
