PM Modi Pays Tribute to Pandit Deendayal on His Birth Anniversary, Emphasizing National Development

PM Modi honors Pandit Deendayals legacy, highlighting the importance of uplifting the marginalized for nation-building.

New Delhi, September 25 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Sangh, on his birth anniversary. In a post shared on social media, Modi emphasized Deendayal’s belief that uplifting the most marginalized individuals is fundamental to nation-building.

Modi stated, “On the birth anniversary of the true servant of the nation, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, I pay my respects. He considered the upliftment of the last person in society as the foundation of national development and provided the ideology of Antyodaya, which continues to inspire public welfare today. Let us reaffirm our commitment to fulfilling our social and national responsibilities by embracing his thoughts and ideals on this special occasion.”

Additionally, the Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit verse that encapsulates the essence of effort and success: “Yatha yatha prayatnah syad bhaved ashu phalam tatha. Iti paurushameva asti daivamastu tadeva cha.” Translated, this means that the more effort a person puts in, the quicker they achieve success. Thus, it is not just fate but also hard work, courage, and the realization of new ideas that pave the way for success and innovation.

This verse is sourced from the revered Hindu philosophical text, Yoga Vasistha. It appears in the second chapter of the text, known for its exploration of non-dualistic Vedanta and the nature of reality.

Earlier, on Thursday, Modi shared another Sanskrit verse emphasizing the importance of speaking words that are truthful, pleasant, and beneficial, which do not cause unrest in others. He highlighted that continuous study and contemplation of sacred texts give true meaning to speech, promoting peace, harmony, and positivity in society.
