CPC Emphasizes Integrity and Accountability in Personnel Selection

The CPC outlines key principles of integrity, honesty, and responsibility in personnel selection for effective governance.

Beijing, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : The key to effective governance lies in appointing the right individuals, according to the Communist Party of China (CPC). Building a high-quality cadre team capable of shouldering the significant responsibilities of national rejuvenation is a fundamental aspect of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s vision for CPC development.

To achieve this goal, the CPC has clearly established three core principles—integrity, honesty, and responsibility—based on its mission of modernization and long-term development. These principles serve as essential value standards throughout the processes of cadre selection, training, appointment, and management.

The three criteria of “integrity, honesty, and responsibility” complement each other and are crucial for defining the standards for effective officials in this new era. “Integrity” signifies a steadfast belief and pure aspirations, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the happiness of the people and adhering to the CPC’s mission of national rejuvenation.

“Honesty” involves a clear distinction between public and private interests, strict adherence to CPC discipline and regulations, and a conscious avoidance of all forms of temptation. It requires impartiality, a rejection of personal gain, and a commitment to exercising power fairly while fulfilling duties with integrity.

“Responsibility” calls for diligence and practicality in one’s work, fulfilling obligations without retreating when faced with challenges, people’s issues, or difficult tasks. It emphasizes taking concrete steps to address the immediate needs and concerns of the populace while promoting developmental goals.

The CPC has established clear guidelines and strict standards for personnel selection and appointment. If an individual fails to meet integrity standards, no matter their capabilities, they will not be appointed. Serious flaws in honesty will lead to outright rejection. Even if someone is law-abiding but average, they will still be incapable of handling the significant responsibilities of modern governance.
