Madhya Pradesh Extends Paddy Registration Deadline to November 4, Says CM Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh extends registration for paddy procurement until November 4 to support farmers, announces CM Mohan Yadav.

Bhopal, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant move for farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the registration for paddy procurement has been extended until November 4. This decision was revealed during his virtual address at the Balram Agricultural Festival held at the Simaria mandi in Seoni district.

CM Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ welfare, increasing their income, and making agriculture more profitable. He highlighted ongoing efforts to connect farmers with modern agricultural techniques, promote crop diversification, and ensure better pricing for agricultural products.

Currently, farmers are receiving uninterrupted power supply for ten hours a day to facilitate their farming activities. This initiative aims to alleviate the need for nighttime irrigation for rabi crops, providing farmers with much-needed relief.

The extension of the registration deadline aims to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out of the opportunity to sell their produce at the support price. Yadav also noted the unique aroma and taste of the district’s Jira Shankar rice, as well as the growing recognition of Seoni’s jumbo sitaphal, known for its large size and sweetness.

Additionally, he pointed out the potential for cultivating crops such as tomatoes, chilies, flaxseed, mustard, and sunflower in the region. To enhance local processing and value addition of agricultural products, a food park will soon be established in Seoni. This initiative is expected to boost agricultural industries and create new employment and entrepreneurial opportunities at the local level.

The year 2026 has been designated as the Year of Farmer Welfare, focusing on making farming more profitable and connecting farmers with alternative sources of income. The government is promoting the cultivation of traditional crops alongside pulses, oilseeds, horticulture, and cash crops to align with market demands and reduce agricultural risks.

By integrating horticulture, animal husbandry, fish farming, and food processing into agricultural practices, new income opportunities are being created for farmers. CM Yadav concluded by praising the hard work of farmers, which continues to drive new achievements in the agricultural sector of Madhya Pradesh.
