New Delhi, March 24: In a session of the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the government’s stance on the ongoing conflict in West Asia. He highlighted the formation of expert and official empowerment groups during the COVID-19 pandemic to tackle various challenges. Recently, seven new empowerment groups have been established to address issues related to supply chains, fuel, fertilizers, gas, and inflation through swift and long-term strategies.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that through collaborative efforts, the nation can better navigate these circumstances. He assured that the government is working to ensure that farmers receive adequate fertilizers in the upcoming sowing season. Necessary preparations have been made to maintain a sufficient supply of fertilizers, and the government is committed to alleviating any burdens on farmers.
Modi stated that the impending crisis poses a significant test for the country. He emphasized the importance of cooperation from state governments to succeed in this challenge. He urged all state governments to ensure that the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana reach the needy in a timely manner, especially during crises that adversely affect the poor, laborers, and migrant workers.
To address the issues faced by migrant workers, the Prime Minister called for proactive measures. State governments should establish special arrangements to monitor these situations, which would greatly facilitate assistance.
Additionally, he pointed out that during such times, black marketeers and hoarders become particularly active. Prompt action should be taken wherever complaints arise, ensuring that the supply of essential goods remains uninterrupted. Maintaining this supply should be a priority for every state.
