Chapra, March 16: Pappu Yadav, the MP from Purnia, has raised concerns regarding the police investigation into the suspicious death of a minor girl in Chapra. He emphasized that no conclusions should be drawn until proper technical and forensic examinations are completed. He compared this case to that of a NEET student, where neither urine nor blood tests were conducted, and it was hastily concluded that she had consumed poison.
Yadav stated that this incident involves a poor family. He asserted that whether it is a case of a romantic relationship or not, the girl has been murdered. The circumstances surrounding her death indicate foul play, making it a homicide.
He criticized the narrative surrounding the girl’s death, stating that it is inappropriate to make such claims after her life has been lost. With the availability of technical investigation methods and the pending report from the forensic lab, it is premature to label the incident as a love affair. He suggested that a medical board should have been formed immediately and that CCTV footage should be reviewed.
Yadav further mentioned that if the girl jumped into a well, her mobile location should have been traced. The locations of people present at the scene should have been compared. He insisted that the details of the individual linked to the alleged romantic relationship should have been obtained. He accused the administration of diverting attention from serious issues by framing it as a love affair.
The 10th-grade student from a village in the Derani police station area was found dead under suspicious circumstances, with her body discovered in a well. Upon learning of the incident, the police initiated an investigation and have arrested one suspect, while others remain at large. The police have denied any allegations of rape, and the investigation is ongoing.
