New Delhi, March 13: Pappu Yadav, the Member of Parliament from Purnia, has expressed strong criticism of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He accused the Election Commission of acting as a mere gatekeeper for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), likening Kumar’s role to that of a peon.
Yadav’s remarks come as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) prepares to introduce an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner in Parliament. Responding to this, Yadav stated, “This should have been done long ago. He (Gyanesh Kumar) has created a constitutional crisis. He shows no regard for the Constitution, Indian values, dignity, or ethics. He operates like a peon. The Election Commission is just like the gatekeeper at the BJP office. Therefore, there is an urgent need to bring forth impeachment proceedings against him.”
Yadav also targeted the government regarding the shortage of LPG cylinders. He remarked, “The situation is not good. Iran still has tears in its eyes regarding its friendship with India. They are continually trying to ensure that no major crisis occurs in India. I believe that the crisis over gas and diesel is not as severe as the black marketing perpetrated by profiteers. All dealers are selling gas through black markets.”
Commenting on Prime Minister Modi’s discussions with the President of Iran, Yadav said, “If the Indian government remembers its friendship with Iran, we believe that moving forward would be a positive initiative. India should firmly support Iran, especially since the Middle East crisis will have the most significant impact on India. Countries like China, Russia, and the United States will not be affected as much, but India will bear the brunt. The government must understand this situation.”
Regarding the recent shooting incident involving National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary, Yadav stated that it is not a security issue. He claimed that those who flatter the BJP government will be protected, while those who do not will have their security stripped away.
He further emphasized that Farooq Abdullah is a leader for all religions and communities in Jammu and Kashmir. He believes that the current conspiracy is an attempt to spread unrest.
