Noida, July 29: In preparation for the sacred month of Sawan and the Kanwar Yatra, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has implemented extensive security measures. Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Rajeev Narayan Mishra announced that coordination with all relevant departments has been established to ensure the safety of devotees, smooth traffic, and improved arrangements during the pilgrimage.
Mishra stated that the police commissionerate has conducted coordination meetings with various agencies, including the electricity department, Noida and Greater Noida authorities, National Highways Authority, and health department, to review all necessary arrangements. Clear responsibilities have been assigned to prevent any issues during the Kanwar Yatra, with special provisions made along eight major Kanwar routes passing through Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The entire district has been divided into 20 zones and 60 sectors for security and monitoring purposes. Senior officials have been deployed in each zone and sector to oversee arrangements continuously and ensure prompt action in any situation. Road repairs and essential construction work have been completed along the Kanwar routes for the convenience of devotees. Waterproof tents have been set up at various locations for Kanwar pilgrims to rest. Special attention has been given to drinking water, lighting, and other basic amenities. Ambulances will be stationed at key locations to provide immediate medical assistance in case of emergencies.
The Additional Police Commissioner noted that a large number of devotees visit temples along the Chilla route to offer water. Therefore, additional security and traffic management measures have been implemented on this route to avoid any inconvenience for the pilgrims. Approximately 2,500 police personnel will be deployed along various Kanwar routes and sensitive locations to enhance security. The Integrated Command and Control Center of the police commissionerate will monitor over 3,000 CCTV cameras installed throughout the district.
Using modern technology, drone cameras will also keep an eye on Kanwar routes and crowded areas to enable immediate action in case of any suspicious activity or disorder. Moreover, more than 28 temporary police posts will be established to strengthen security during the Kanwar Yatra. Police personnel will be stationed at these posts around the clock to assist pilgrims and maintain law and order.
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has urged devotees to follow the guidelines issued by the administration, respect traffic rules, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the police. Authorities are committed to ensuring that this year’s Kanwar Yatra is safe, smooth, and peaceful through modern technology, comprehensive security arrangements, and inter-departmental coordination.
