New Delhi, February 10: Leaders from the opposition are persistently calling for a discussion in Parliament regarding the book by former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane. They have accused the BJP of concealing information.
In response to the Delhi Police filing an FIR concerning the alleged circulation of General Naravane’s unpublished book, RJD MP Manoj Jha stated, “Do not blame the Delhi Police; they are merely following orders from above. I have seen a notification from Penguin House. This is the value and reputation of a publication house. A page from the book was published in a magazine, and the PDF is available to everyone. The government is completely insecure.”
SP leader Rajiv Rai remarked, “The question is not who published or sold the book, but what are the four lines in it that the government does not even want to hear about. The government is avoiding this issue, which is unacceptable. If they believe there is nothing to hide, they should respond in Parliament.”
Congress MP Mallu Ravi claimed, “The Delhi Police filed the FIR due to pressure from BJP members. The BJP government wants to turn this into an issue.”
Congress MP Karti Chidambaram added, “Anyone familiar with the publishing process knows that when a book is written, it is shared among several people for review. Many write blurbs for the book, and it is sent to various journalists for feedback. Today, publication is not limited to physical copies; a post on social media like Instagram or Facebook is also considered a publication. This is yet another misuse of agencies under this government.”
Congress MP J.B. Mathur emphasized, “The women MPs from Congress and the opposition are very strong. They are not intimidated by the letter sent by the treasury bench.”
