Chandigarh, March 31: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann unveiled a ₹75 crore development package on Tuesday. This initiative includes ₹23 crore allocated for a ‘Center of Excellence’ named after Kargil martyr Captain Amol Kalia.
Additionally, significant improvements to the educational infrastructure in Nangal are part of this package.
Mann emphasized that those who have promoted drug trafficking and weakened Punjab’s social fabric will never be forgiven. He stated that the people have decisively moved towards an honest governance model focused on employment, education, and infrastructure.
After dedicating the development works, CM Mann remarked, “The Akalis should be tried for the massacre of generations, as they protected the drug trade, which flourished during their prolonged misrule. These leaders’ hands are stained with the blood of millions of youth who fell victim to the drugs supplied by their government vehicles. These sins are unforgivable, and people will never pardon them for their long history of wrongdoing.”
He added, “These leaders have long deceived the public by claiming to be farmers. But can they explain how a mere farmer could amass such a large fleet of buses and a luxurious hotel in Gurgaon? They have accumulated wealth by selling the interests of the state and its people for their personal political gains.”
CM Mann stated, “Sukhbir Badal has lost his public support, and workers are being paid to show up at rallies. The same crowd appears at every Akali rally. Alarmed by the unprecedented work done by the state government, they are making baseless and irrational statements. Based on such claims, the former Deputy Chief Minister dreams of returning to power, which will never happen.”
Recalling past events, he reminded that the former Deputy Chief Minister “claims significant development during his tenure but turns a blind eye to the incidents of ‘beadbi’ (sacrilege) in Kotkapura, Behbal Kalan, and elsewhere, where the Guru Granth Sahib was disrespected, and innocent people were killed. All of this occurred during his rule. They have forgotten these sacrilege incidents, thinking people will forget too, but they never will.”
He further stated, “His family was also involved. Their ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ is actually a ‘Family Bachao Yatra.’ After looting the state for 15 years, they must explain who they are trying to save Punjab from. The Akali Dal has brutally plundered the state, hurt the sentiments of Punjabis, and provided protection to various mafias.”
