Opposition Blamed for Womens Reservation Bill Failure, Protests Planned in Jharkhand

Hazaribagh, April 20: Aditya Sahu, the President of the Jharkhand BJP and Rajya Sabha MP, has directly blamed the Congress and opposition parties for the failure of the Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam) in Parliament. He described this as a “heinous crime” and a “political sin” against the women of the country, announcing a statewide protest starting April 25.

Sahu stated that opposing every good initiative and conspiring against it has been Congress’s long-standing history. He accused them of revealing their true character by undermining the rights of half the population.

Addressing a press conference in Hazaribagh on Monday, he emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken a historic step to grant 33 percent reservation to women, but the bill fell victim to the opposition’s narrow-mindedness.

He declared that the BJP would not remain silent in the face of this insult. A massive protest march will commence from Morabadi Ground in the state capital, Ranchi, on April 25. Following this, from April 25 to 30, the party plans to conduct marches across all 595 blocks in the state, culminating in the burning of effigies of Congress and opposition leaders.

Sahu also criticized the Hemant Soren government regarding law and order in the state. He claimed that daughters in Jharkhand are not safe, citing a rise in incidents of rape over the past few years.

He referenced the murder of a girl in Vishnugadh and an incident involving a medical student in Ranchi, alleging that the government is attempting to shield the culprits.

Present at the press conference, Koderma MLA Dr. Neera Yadav also launched a sharp attack on Congress. She stated that for Congress, women’s empowerment begins and ends with Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, showing no concern for ordinary women and their representation.

She condemned the opposition’s celebration over the bill’s failure and urged all women to teach the opposition a stern lesson in the upcoming elections for this “betrayal.”
