Ahead of its official launch on October 16, Oppo’s Find X9 Pro has made headlines by outperforming the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in multiple battery drain and endurance tests, despite both smartphones featuring the same 7,500mAh battery capacity.

According to results shared by Novice Evaluation, the Oppo Find X9 Pro lasted 7 hours and 18 minutes in continuous use, surpassing Xiaomi’s 6 hours and 49 minutes. The iQOO Z10 Turbo+, equipped with a larger 8,000mAh battery, topped the chart at 7 hours and 31 minutes, while the regular Find X9 — with a 7,025mAh battery — also managed 6 hours and 51 minutes, slightly ahead of Xiaomi’s flagship.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max lagged far behind with just 5 hours and 26 minutes, reaffirming Android smartphones’ dominance in battery longevity.

In another test conducted by WhyLab, Oppo’s Find X9 Pro delivered 9 hours and 30 minutes of battery life, comfortably outlasting the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which managed 8 hours and 24 minutes — an edge of over an hour.

Interestingly, Xiaomi’s device runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while Oppo’s Find X9 Pro uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip. Analysts suggest that Oppo’s strong performance may be due to ColorOS 16’s advanced power optimization, which could be making a significant difference in real-world efficiency.

Social media users echoed this sentiment, with one noting, “Both have the same 7500mAh battery and Xiaomi’s chipset is more efficient, yet Oppo lasts longer — it all comes down to software optimization.”

While these results are pre-release figures and may vary with future software updates — including Xiaomi’s upcoming HyperOS rollout — Oppo’s early performance showcases its potential to set a new benchmark in battery endurance for flagship smartphones.
